On 13th of November we hosted a running event with TrailLab.

Since it took place in the area of Tbilisi Hills, the race went over the mountains and was accompanied by Panoramic views on natural treasure of Georgia – Mount Kazbek. It also had a unique elevation profile, as most of the elevation was in the second half of the distances, not in the first, as it usually is.

After the start on the main square of Tbilisi Hills, the route followed Teleti Ridge and after 3 kilometres it started to descend toward Tbilisi via beautiful serpentine. After losing about 400 vertical meters the route entered Krtsanisi streets, before crossing Krtsanisi Khevi River and starting to climb to the Teleti Ridge once again, but with a different route this time. After reaching the top the route lead back to the start/finish location.

There were amazing views of Tbilisi, Kojori Forest, Kumisi Lake and Shavnabada Monastery seen from different parts of the route and unusual perspectives on Mount Kazbegi as well. The route followed the trails surrounded by the trees/bushes and with characteristic flowering cacti. Yes, that’s correct, cacti, avoiding scary spines of which adds another level of challenge to the race.

The race had three distances:
18 kilometres with 750 meters of elevation gain
14 kilometres with 550 meters of elevation gain
9 kilometres (Fun Run) with 300 meters of elevation gain

And they had to be completed in the following time frames:
18km: 03:30 hours
14km: 03:00 hours
9km: 03:00 hours

Results from the event can be viewed on TrailLab’s website https://www.traillab.ge/. Big congratulations to all the winners and good job to everyone that participated! We hope there was something it for everyone and that it was a good challenge for all!
